Unknown short problem
I have some unknown short problem in the 800 I can't figure out. When it is under a load and hot, I notice an intermittent loss of power and sputtering. It will quickly recover, but then do it again. When this is going on, the 4x4 indicator gauge goes off, and the check engine indicator goes on. I c...

The main key to the K&N filters, is to let them COMPLETELY dry (2 days) before you spray them with oil. They may feel dry after 12 hours, but they are not. The oil then incapsulates the remaining water particles and when you use them, the intake sucks in the heavyer water with the oil around it into...

Hey Rob,
This might be something to consider. I have ATV guru bumbers for my 800, and they are far superior to the Pure Polaris, in my opinion.

Hey Ken, Looks like Jake and I are out this year. My dad is having cancer surgery on the 10th. We are both really bummed, but have to be there. We'll catch up with you soon. Going to take him up and do the Tahoe side of the Rubicon in the next few weeks to make up for it. When I get a date, I'll pos...
Hey Rob, Mike is the mechanic at Livermore Speed Sport and he is the best I have found. Has years of expirence and been to all the schools. The big improvement in the last year or so has been with the clutches. They grab the belt much more abruptly and reduce belt wear. Not sure what the set up was ...

Hey Ken, Jake and I will be there again this year. Had an awesome time last year and it was great father/son bonding time as well as meeting some great folks. Our first real taste of rock crawling, and we're hooked. Done alot since then, just did most of the Rubicon weekend before last. Did invest i...

I have a 500 and an 800, and the 500 has more than enough power and speed to get you into plenty of trouble. The 500 can stay up with the 800 just fine on most rides. Maybe not in a drag race or up a long grade in the mountains, but if your a speed freak, get a CanAm. Contrary to what many claim, th...

Looks Great
Dear fellow 2008 800 owner; Couple of things I found. First they improved the clutching over previous years, and it now engages more abruptly and quickly when you start, and this does make a little clunking noise you may be expirencing. This keeps you from glazing up the belt. Secondly I noticed fro...

Noise
Sportsmans all make this noise. The ADC only works on the front wheels. The engine brake is the same as in non ADC models and can't be turned off, and works in all drive modes. The engine brake makes a clunking noise. Nothing to worry about. Sounds weird, but just get used to it.

Fluids
You should check all your fluids even if its straight from the factory. My buds RZR tranny was nearly bone dry, and my dealer caught my 800 was very low in the rear diff. Also remember that if you have ADC (newer models only) it takes "LT" front diff. fluid, and not the older stuff like my 04 500. I...

http://www.utvobsession.com/pics/miyagi08/Miyagi08017.jpg Love my ITP mud lite XTR radials. Had to shim out the front tire an 1/8 of an inch to keep it from rubbing on the tie rod boot, but no problem. i think they grab better in the slop than the Bighorns. They run a little small, so the 26's work ...

A-Arm protector
Check out the Stick Stoppers I posted under Gear and Gizmos. They bolt on your A-arms with some aluminum u-bolts on top of some spacers and there is a little space between the front of the stick stopper and the leading edge of the a-arm. This was designed to provide a crumple zone for a hard hit on ...
