88 Octane just hit $4.11/gallon here in Utah. Much like someone else said, we're just sucking it up. We have limited our RV and camping trips for this year though. Where we'd usually head out 4-6 times over the summer, we may only do 2 this year (we already did our first over Memorial). I'm also con...

I usually just carry a 50' length of 800 pound rated rope, purchased at Walmart for $12.00 It's saved my butt plenty of times last winter. Heading up a hill, hit deep snow, plow through, but get stuck mid-way up. Nearest tree is about 15' further than the winch cable will reach, so I pull out the ro...

I don't understand the purpose or reasoning. Seems like a bunch of red necks.

That can't be good on the quad either. :?

I'm glad you came out of it unscathed and possibly wiser.

I was out with the ~26 ATV convoy from 5Mile Pass to Eureka.

I haven't had interest in Little Sahara (yet), and am still having fun exploring the west desert in sun or snow.

Why did this happen????? how many miles / hours do you have on the machine. what gives :?: :?: :?: No idea on why.. Service techniician indicates it could have been the oil (which they last changed) and Kawasaki indicates they've seen a few of these now. As for hours/miles: ~450 hours and ~4500 mil...

Well, Fish.. Seems I'm going to blow out your spend on ATV repair: Well, my service center called me again today and my repair is now exceeding an additional $1000 in repairs and could be upwards of $2000. In addition to last month's damage $800 (rear axle, carb. rebuild, oil), now we're looking at:...

Glad you're back. My quad (Brute Force) is STILL in the shop. Last quote was $900, after paying $800 a few weeks ago. Seems there are metal chains that drive the cam, bottom-end, etc. that are "excessively worn out". 2.5 weeks and counting (after a previous 2 weeks waiting). I hope to get my quad ba...

Odd low-oil clanking noise..

I just put 40 miles on my 2005 Brute Force 750i, after getting it back from the service department. Services performed: - Replace rear (left side) axle - Rebuild carb, re-jet for altitude and new air cleaner - Oil change and filter After riding that 40 miles, we were going down a grated dirt road, d...

Turns out, my hard starting was due to multiple problems.

- Dirty Air filter
- Fouled and dirty carb
- Jetted wrong and needed to be re-jetted for 7k altitude

Had those things done (Cost $800) and it fires right up.

 I went up to pull my oldest (age 13) out of the sand, but as you can see dug myself in and got high centered. Took a bit of digging with the shovel, but I got both of us out. The tow rope was useless in that sand! :D

Final update on these new style Kolpin's: Went riding today in Logandale, NV, with full sunshine, temps in the mid 70's and after parking the quad to lunch, I could hear (fairly loud) the plastic expanding (violently). Decided to move the quad into the shade, took the container off the rack and allo...
