Jacob City Loop

Decided to take a break from renovating the wife's bathroom today. Packed up the quad and staged in the Jacob City Loop staging area (just east of Stockton). It was still pretty cold at the staging area.. Easily 34f. Since the forecast was for warm temps, I only brought a sweatshirt. Decided I wante...

Warn 62135 Solenoid

What are the chances that both solenoids on both Kawasaki's would be bad -- at the same time? Went riding yesterday, used the winch once to climb some boulders (worked well). Got back to the truck and wanted to use the winch to assist in ramping into the bed and the winch wouldn't fire up. Got home,...

That does look fun. Most of our trails out here that are snow packed are now rutted (from jeeps) and turning to mud.

It's not too bad an area. Easily hundreds of miles of open desert trails & washes.

An old fart told me that I could have ridden 100+ miles into the Grand Canyon from that location. I may need to plan that out in the next year or so. (Fuel, water, gear, etc).

l and nice commando look batman  Not harping on ya at all. I carry as well but ccw. Anytime I go out into no-man's land, I carry and take my entire chest rig. I've run into more than my share of crazy's living in the desert. I've also come face to face with Coyote, Mountain Lion and Bear. I to...

I don't know you, Kendo -- but best wishes despite that fact. Anybody needing that much medical attention deserves well wishes.

Wow, that's AWESOME!!! Too bad you're pulling it with a Ford. You'll have to update us after the first trip and how well you do over some of the foothills and mountains. 14k is no joke, and once you get a couple of quads, fuel and water in that thing, it's gonna be H E A V Y. Ford? No...

Man how much fun would that be,,so cool. You could do some metal detecting for nuggets,,lol. As I understood it, the Gold Butte area in Southern Nevada still has a considerable amount of undiscovered gold stashed away. An old fart we met up there kept us entertained for 20+ minutes elaborating on h...

With that rig ,you must be big on the whole RV/camping lifestyle. I grew up RV'ing through the US and theres just something addicting about it. I try to get out at least once/week. In my line of work, it's what I need to de-stress and remain sane. Although I'm only 40, the wife and I already have p...

Whitney Pocket / Gold Butte (Nevada)

For our annual Cabin Fever trip, we took our new truck and 5th wheel toy hauler on its maiden voyage. Normally this time of year, we've gone down to Logandale, NV (about 30 minutes further south), but this time we thought we'd see what the Whitney Pocket / Gold Butte area looked like. We departed Sa...

Nice. I envy the fact that you can mountain bike right now. Currently, our usual mountain bike trails have 20+ foot of snow on them!
