I'm not really sure where we're going yet. We'll probably just head up 80 and find a place to ride. I'm not sure where the snow line is gonna be. It's supposed to be a nice day on Sat. Maybe we'll see if we can make it to the top staging area just past Homewood.

Keith,

Me and a couple of friends were talking about going out this Saturday. We talked about going up to Red Dog near Colfax. I've been there before but only for a few hours in the evening. The ride took us down into a river canyon and along the river... we crossed it several times. I remember coming home very cold and very wet. There shouldn’t be to much/any snow at that level.

If you're planning to bring kids, I may bring my 9 yr old son and my two seater Bombardier. Let me know what you decide.

Hey Mike. We are pretty set on going further up. I have ridden red dog and all over the railroad tracks as well in the colfax area. Lots of fun on my old KX, but I dont think the kids will like it much. We are pretty set for snow at this point...we will have the 9 and 10 year olds too, so feel free to follow us up the hill if you want

How far up are you planning to go? We went up to Indian Springs last year about this time and didn't get very far. The snow was very deep. Don't know what it’s like right now... probably not as deep as when we went. I had fun just the same.

What part of Roseville are you in... I live near Hwy 65 & Blue Oaks? Riding buddies live in... Folsom, Roseville and Antelope. We've had some fun rides up near Bowman Lake and the Lake Almanor/Chester area. We've working on a Desert trip in the spring.

I'm near Pleasant Grove and Foothills. At least until Aug. then I'll be off of Fiddyment in Westpark.

I'm not sure how far we're going. The last time I was up riding, snow was very scarce. I'm hoping for some nice snow this side of Truckee. If not, we'll probably go over the top to the staging area past Homewood

I normally live in Lincoln, but my house burned down so we are in Roseville of Riverside and 80 until the rebuild is done.

Funny you mention Bowman, I was thinking the road to Grouse Ridge might be a killer place. Should be snow up there too and it isnt too far. I am looking through a trail book right now, and I was thinking about searching for snowmobile trails....It's legal for us to go on those isnt it?

Did they give you a time frame for your rebuild?

OK, so I am thinking one of 3 things.

1. Go up 20 and turn off at the PG&E station and heead up till either the turn off to the top of grouse ridge or snow, whichever comes first. Ride up the road and see if we can make it to the top.

2. Signal Peak trail....

3. Eagle Lakes Road...

Thoughts, opinions?

I thought they closed and gated Bowman rd. for the winter. Fordyce rd is closed and gated at the campground for snowmobiles. Eagle lakes is open but a little too rough for my wife (been there done that :x ), so thats out for me. Maybe some other time when my wife stays home.
