Re: My Moab, Day 2
Thanks Ken! Good to talk to you on the Tube.
I have been visiting Moab for several years on ATV, but had never really taken a full size vehicle on the trails. In roughly 08 I purchased my 06 Nissan Titan, figured it was an ok trail vehicle, lifted it a bit and put some AT tires on it. Met up with a few guys in Moab one year and joined them for some trails. One of them happened to be Hell's Revenge, which was a very fun trail in a full size truck. We got to Hell's Gate, and I was getting out to watch everybody. The one guy asks me if I wanted to ride with him up the obstacle. Of course, I said "yes," and decided to film it from the inside. The one thing I had in my mind is the "other" Hell's Gate video where the guy rolls it all the way down (below)
When the Jeep went up I lost all orientation and though that we were going backwards for sure. In all reality we only went back and to the left a few feet, but it felt like we were tumbling for minutes. Good times!
Looks like all of my links are broken since I moved my Photobucket account around. Here are the links to my Moab Albums. Check my Youtube username for some Colorado and Utah videos, and other douchebaggery. Yes, I used to not wear helmets as you might see in some early pictures. That has been fixed.

I last visited this site in 08. I will make sure I get back here more often. My friend and I have a Moab trip planned this summer. We are going to risk the heat. If it gets too bad we will head to Colorado.
I also have a trip to http://www.bigrockoffroadpark.com in Kentucky in April. I will post up a report.
Thanks,
Zack

That's funny Zack....That's EXACTLY the video I put at the beginning of Jack and I doing Hell's Gate...that's the exact image I had in my head...when I was going up.

I can barely imagine going up that on a quad WITH a helmet. On video it looks crazy....in person it looks near impossible.Kendo wrote:And the stupid fawk riding that quad is sans helmet!!! WTF is wrong with people????
