Huh? Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but it looks legit to me... the price is about right for what one should sell for. Of course, I'd never send money ahead of time... cash on delivery only for anyhting like that.

What P-nus (aka: Ken) is saying is I didn't bid on it..... I didn't know enough to say whether or not it was somthing I wanted. However, with that said... I shoulda bought it. Seems to be the best quad out there for summit riding.... weight, cost, track length..... Oh well, live and learn.

The good news is... I'll have purchased a sled by next weekend... :) So, with that said.... RobG, I'll need some input on where to ride.... I think I have all the equipment I need with the exception of beacon and probe. With any luck, this will motivate the Frisco Kid in getting a sled....

Congrats on your upcoming purchase! Okay, riding areas.... there are lots and lots of 'em.

Lessee, you're in Stockton. Here's a list of places to ride, starting with the closest ones...

Sonora Pass (look up Sonora and Hwy 108 on the map)
Bear Valley (look up Bear Valley Ski Resort on Hwy 4)
Iron Mountain (Hwy 88 about 15 miles west of Kirkwood)
Hope Valley (Hwy 88 south of South Lake Tahoe)

Those are the closest. Other very popular ones that are a bit farther away...

Cisco Grove (off I-80)
Castle Peak (I-80 @ Boreal exit)
Little Truckee Summit aka LTS (Hwy 89 16 miles north of Truckee)
Bassetts (Hwy 49 5 miles east of Sierra City)
Yuba Pass (Hwy 49 10 miles east of Sierra City)
Gold Lake (Hwy 89 just south of Graeagle)

Some of these areas are Sno-Parks, which means you need a $25/year pass to park there between Nov 30 and May 30 or risk a $75 fine. Given that there's only a few weeks left before that's up for this year, I wouldn't waste the money on the pass and just find a non-Sno-Park area in which to park.

Equipment... if you don't want to spend the $$ for the beacon and stuff, for this year you can probably get away without it, but do try to have it for the fall. Go here:

http://www.hoppkeracing.com/www/hoppker ... e+Survival

Look for the Fly Backpack and Combo Kit for $379. You get backpack, shove, beacon, probe, etc for all that. I know two guys who got that kit and love it. I will probably pick up one of these kits myself an I'd like a good backpack and want a spare probe and shovel anyway.

I hope to ride one day next weekend... and it will probably be Iron Mountain or Sonora Pass. For Sonora, I'll come in from the East side, so hopefully somebody I know will come in from the west side if you wanted to join us. You never want to snowmobile alone, at least not until you've done it for a few years and learn all the tricks on how to not get stranded out in BFE. :)

Please check out both www.sierrasledders.com (my site) and also www.snowest.com. Both have tons of sledder info. On SnoWest, go to the Snow Conditions area and look for the "California Only Riding Conditions" thread and read it. That's the "home" of most of the NorCal/NV people such as myself. Make a post, introduce yourself, and everybody will welcome you. Do the same on my site, and you can start finding people to hook up with for riding.
