Planning to Make History

According to extensive internet research, I have concluded that my plans to navigate the Rubicon Trail will be historic if I am successful. I am sure to be compared to Magellan, Robert Peary, Sir Edmund Hillary, Chuck Lindbergh, etc.
I have begun the preparation of my history making machine (my personal Spirit of St. Louis), started a fitness routine to prepare me for the rigors of the trail, and am soliciting sponsors.
I plan to make my attempt in August when the water on the trail recedes enough to be passable by my planned mode of travel: a 1975 Honda CT70.
(don't tell me it's been done. It's not on the world-wide web, so it ain't happened, yet)

"Who was that who took a 1975 Honda CT70 on the Rubicon?"
"Oh, he was an Average Joe."
Yeah, I think I would actually come out and ride the Rubicon to see this!

Yes, there will be photo documentation.
My maiden voyage of the CT70 is planned for this Saturday as I will be participating in the Nevada City Toy Run with several hundred Harleys.
I will post pictures from the toy run.

Ok, I've had some setbacks during trials. Major malfunction. Had to call base for rescue (wife with truck with a bad attitude). I understand great adventurers commonly have to deal with spousal skeptisizm. Whatever. STFU.
After several months and mail order deliveries, I am back on track. The CT70 will now hit 40mph and runs like a champ. Will still need more trials and locktite before I hit the Rubicon. With such a light winter, I may try for June or July instead of August.
More details to follow.

(Whatever. STFU.)
