The passing of Dennis Mayer

It is with the heaviest heart that I let you all know about the passing of Dennis Mayer last night at 2am. Dennis slipped in the tub and hit his head, and passed out on the way to the hospital on Sunday.
Dennis, for those that do not know him, was an integral part of keeping the Rubicon Trail open. Dennis worked tirelessly getting the full-time Ham repeater on the trail, working with the Rubicon Trail Foundation as Treasurer, working with FOTR and the Rubicon Oversight Committee. Dennis was probably the only person, that was liked by the County, DOT, RTF, ROC, FOTR and USFS. No one could say no to Dennis.
Many of you, including myself, have their ham radio license because of Dennis. Dennis organized Ham radio licensing classes every six months, because he understood the importance of communication out there in case of emergency.
There are no feet big enough, to fill the shoes of Dennis Mayer. He will be truly missed.
KI6PZQ to W2DWM. Out.
