Fillmore, Utah - Paiuite trails 10, 11, 01, 97, 03
We arrived at the Fillmore KOA around 9pm on Thursday. Friday morning, Eli (he on a stock Razr) and I departed for a 120 mile round trip to Hoovers and back. On the route back, I lost my Droid Incredible. Fortunately, being an IT guy, I had it programmed for remote wipe. I dialed the phone a few times and only got voicemail..indicative of a power-off situation. The following morning, the wife and I planned on a Droid rescue trip. Fortunately, my helmet cam showed the exact location the phone fell of my ATV. We dialed the phone a few times and 5 rings later, got voicemail ... indicative of a phone powered-on. Somebody clearly had my phone. Fortunately, remote-wipe had already been engaged, so now it was just hardware (with no data).
At any rate, we couldn't find my phone, but had an awesome ~85 mile adventure. Around 3/4 of the way through the trip, my wife's phone rang (way up high on the mountain) and it was a hunter that had my phone. He gave me GPSr coordinates (just a mere ~40 miles south of me). We fired up our machines and made for the KOA. Got off our ATV's, loaded up the truck with kids and went on a 4x4 adventure up the mountain (mind you, i have a 9000 pound dually with a 5th wheel hitch and tires aired to 80PSI.. not an easy task to go 4x4'ing). Got to the hunters camp and retrieved my Droid.

thanks for sharing ive just been looking into these place to try and ride. Was it busy in the area you where, busy as in 4x4 traffic on the trails? I take it the remote wipe dosent wipe the sim card on your phone so he still had all your contact #? (or u just had been calling it more likely duh). At least some one nice and decent found it and you where able to get it back.
I was looking at some maps / guides about this area just today i may have to go ahead and order them up and do some more research on the area.
Its my understanding you can ride around for days staying at the small towns leap frog'n around on nothing but your atv. Be a great time spending a week doing a huge loop there.

Wow - that's all awesome country. A little bit of everything. I like the name "Devil's Armchair", we have a location over near Truckee - Jammer Chair Flat. I love the names that have survived the years.
Great photos - thanks! Looks like a really nice trip.

Nice, it looks like you timed the ride perfectly for the fall colors! Flyin Boy and I were out there in October 2007 and the colors were outstanding.
Yes Brian, you can do some really long loops in that area. We did 500+ miles in 5 days back in 2005, and 600+ miles in 6 days in 2006. You could easily do 1000+ miles if you wanted to. The towns are cool, you can ride right into most of the towns and get gas, food, etc. We mostly camped along the way but it was nice to hit a motel every once in a while.
