Spark Plug Boot / TFI

Postby GPER » Thu Oct 25, 2007 10:33 am

I have the one cylinder engine in my Polaris Ranger 6x6 and the spark plug boot is loose from the wire. This is the odd ball boot that fits into the head and the spark plug wire is built into the tfi unit.

All the parts manuals I can find on line show a two cylinder engine so is the one I have all one unit( that is what it looks like to me). Where is the best place to order parts on line for these?????

Thanks for the help

Personally, I think this is the cheapest place online, they have a 25% discount over most others for OEM parts.

The boot should just unscrew from the wire. Cut a little off the wire and reinstall boot.

coil, wire, and boot P/N 3084690
spark plug boot P/N 3084980 very common with most 500 to 400CC Polaris.
Your dealer should have extras laying around and you should get one free. in 2004 there was a recall for pinched plug wire and wire and boot were changed. so extra boots should in the junk box at the dealer.

Now you have to let us know when this POS runs!

OK, I did drive it around the neighborhood today. So it does run and I think the drive train is ok, I think it was just stuck in low range when I brought it home.

I did find the problem why it was parked, the driver side A arm bracket is wallered out. That will be my next project welding a plate on the brackets to beef them up. I don't see why a heavy equipment shop couldn't have fixed this, but then it wouldn't be mine
