800 EFI - Water issues
Any of you guys have any thoughts on this problem....
Riding this weekend, we made MANY water crossings. Finally, Lori's 2005 800 had problems running. Any thing hard on the throttle, it seemed like 1 cylinder was sputtering...coughing...and nearly die. Let off...it returned to idle.
Clearly, after riding without water...it dried up and ran fine the rest of the day.
I was thinking spark plug wires....anything else?

When you find the problem, might be time for some StarBrite Liquid Electrical Tape. I use it on my electrical connections, such as on my winch contactor's terminals:

Great stuff, you brush it on and it turns into a rubber-like insulation that basically extends the insulation on your wires. I have a can of each color (red, black, white, green) so as to preserve the original color-coding of the wires/connections. You can get this from a variety of suppliers, even Amazon.com.

You know..I was thinking about it...the right side wire I remember was "burnt" when the pipe got hot. I think I'll replace it...and see what happens.

Ya see, this is just like at work - "I didn't do anything" - a little more research and questioning - "oh yeah, I DID click on that thing but I didn't think it meant anything".
I see I am going to have to deal with you like I do my users. First question - what did you do??
