Valve noises?
My 800 started making what seems to be a metallic thrashing sound(I hate describing noises).
Light throttle it is fine. It only does it when under a heavy load. Say you are going 25 mph, light throttle. If you mash the throttle and hold it, it is very noisey for as long as you have the throttle wide open. From a mechanic point of view, it reminds me of valve ping.
So, any ideas? Also, valve clearances would be helpful as it may need it done anyways.

I've been told I joke around too much.
So one day I tried being serious.
Everybody laughed!

Assuming you have the correct viscosity and amount of oil I'd start looking at fuel, especially if you have older fuel or a winter blend that can lead to pinging. Try some new fuel and see if that helps or cures the problem. If that doesn't help try a cooler spark plug.
