Alloy vs Steel lug nut ???
Last week I bought a set of factory RzR take offs. The rims are 12" Polaris Crusher rims and brand new 26" Maxxis Big Horn tires. I cannot go to pick them up until later this week.
My question is about the lug nuts.
Will I need different nuts for these rims than I have with my steel rims that are on the machine now?
If it matters, its a 2007 Polaris EFI 700.

Re: Alloy vs Steel lug nut ???
i dont know much about RzR's or polaris but i know can-am comes stock with tapered lugs, and almost all after market rims use flat ones, but since its polairs / polairs you should be fine. If your worried about the alloy metal reacting with the steel, id think its a non-issue but just check after 3 months or so and you can see then.

Re: Alloy vs Steel lug nut ???
A quick Google search turned up some posts at rzrforums.net that say the Crusher rims use tapered lugnuts. So it sounds like there are some new nuts in your future.

Yes you will. Rocky Mountain ATV carries them, a little over a buck a piece. It's a 3/8 X 24 fine thread tapered lug nut.
