Fender Rub
Hey guys..... just received a set of 26" ITP XTR's on Delta rims. LOVE THE TIRES, but get pretty serious rubbing on the front fenders when pushing it hard. You guys just live with it, or increase clearence somehow?
2004.5 SP700 Carb, 2006 LT3 CC/LB D/A LB, 87'FXST, 83FLHT, 63DuoGlide
Mine rubs on high compression stuff.
I live with it....It's just plastic and it's only occasionally.
Some people cut the fenders...I prefer the spray protection over the elimination of a sound. But that's just me.

Damn Yankee;
1. Are you rubbing on the Body fender or the black fender ext?
2. What air pressure are you running?
I find that I can get almost 27 1/2" tall out of my 26" XTR's if I run the pressure up to 6 to 7 PSI.
You can get higher spring rate springs for the front. I got 700 springs for my 500HO.
You can also get the mud fender ext. that run flatter than the stock 04.5 black fenders.

Majority of rubbing looks to be on the black extenders, and yes I am running the pressure on the high side (6-7 psi) What pressures are you guys running? Not sure if higher spring rates are available for the 700.MrBill wrote:Damn Yankee;

I'm running 4 1/2 PSI up front and 4 PSI in the rear.
Polaris does have higher rate springs for the 700's I had to call polaris to get the P/N . My dealer did not have a listing for the other springs.
I think you will only need springs for a MV700

For rocks....4 lbs.
Trails... 4.5lbs.
I used to run 3.5, which works WAY better on rocks...but I pinched a sideway....and ran 4 ever since...never happened again in 2 years.
