Swiching over to Amsteel rope, how to remove cable?
Just ordered Amsteel Blue winch rope for Kendo and I... does anyone know how to remove the factory winch cable from the drum; Warn RT3.0? I looks like it it wedged into the drum. Maybe someone on this forum has already switched over can give us some insight.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Depending on the drum style (my ATV's have Warn 2.5's), it's either just curled up and pressed in or there's a retaining screw.
If no screw, you can just uncoil the cable and using a punch or screwdriver, just press it out, watching for the little metal stud that's placed in and has the cable coiled around it. That little stud should just fall out.
If the screw type, take the screw out and then just remove the loop from around the screw post.
If those tips don't help, upload a PIC of your drum..
Hope that helps.

Because Larry. we don't anticipate the type of rock crawling that creates that condition..... more like snow and mud extraction...
On the other hand, now that I have said that, the first time out that we need to use them, we will probably snap one sliding it across a rock, eh for $40 its worth a shot....
