ITP 589's...27-9-12's in front and 27-11-12's in back. The wheels are the Vision 160's...12x7 in front and 12x8 in back. theres about 3/4" clearance between the tire and tie-rod up front which is actually more than it was with the stock 8" PXT's and steel rims. If your looking for Wheels right now you can find these ones cheap all over the place. I paid $210 for all four shipped.

I had 589's for 4 years and now Bighorns for one. So I've got experience with both.
Here's my comparison.
Mud: Edge 589's. Those treads just seek and destroy mud.
Snow: Edge Bighorn. What makes 589's great in mud, hurts them in snow. Snow is about floatation, and the Bighorns disperse the weight much better. It's China here I come with 589's.
Trails: Big advantage Bighorn. Bighorns are smooth, corner amazingly and literally soak up small and medium rocks. You'd swear you have a flat. 589's, between the treads and bias ply, you need dentist to fix those lost fillings.
Rocks: Even. Both grip rocks well. In intense spots those treads really bite with 589's. Bighorns have great side bite. Www.atvobsession.com/reviews.html
Wear: about even. I had 2200 miles on 589's and now 1000 on my Bighorns. I have seen Bighorns with 7000 miles still kickin' and I bet the 589's could too.
What's the best one? Overall, Bighorns. But if you don't dry trail ride much, and mainly do mud and boulders, 589's rock.

Re: how to post video
Sounds like a way-cool video, Kodiak! You can get a free account over at Blip.TV. The upload process is pretty straightforward. When it is done uploading, it will give you a link to your video. Click that, then give it a look-see to make sure it uploaded OK. You can then copy the URL out of your browser and paste it into a post here. For example, here is one of mine over there:Kodiak wrote:i have a great video of ATVers 589's in action tearing up the snow but alas i don't know how to post it so yeah if you can tell me how i will show you kens "china" diggin in action!

Or, you could do YouTube which is also free. But I've found that the quality at Blip.TV tends to be better.
PM me if you need any help.

One of the guys I ride with has BigHorns. I like both the 589s and the horns but figured I would do a comparison between the two. In some of the mud we run into, its like thick clay the Bighorns get "packed" and he'll end up stuck. from what I've seen of the 589's..they seem to "clean-out" well. In most other areas he does great. Just going up and down the street after getting them on I know the 589's are gonna be rough on harder surfaces. We ride a wide range of terrain though and usually will run into abit of everything. As far as snow, I see most plowing driveways. Theres the odd few heavy snowfalls here and usually we'll just "garage run" on those nights. As everything freezes we spend alot of time out on the lakes and waterways. But I dont think either tire, without studs, is better than the other on ice.
Alot of what I have seen in the pic's and vids here 589's or Bighorns are the way to go. Theres Mudlites but then everyone I talked to said they dont last at all. From what I have looked at after the 589's or Bighorns tires become specifically either trail or mud (generally) I did look at a couple "AMS" tires but they felt like a real soft compound...thought they wouldn't last long.
Looked at these also but I dont know enough about them. Or know anyone who has a set.(Mud Gear)
