A site based around our obsession: Riding ATV's

On November 24, 2005, ATV Obsession lost a great, great man...Mr. Miyagi. No...not this Mr. Miyagi.

We lost the great Karate master, and inventor of the Crane Move..Pat Morita...the real Mr. Miyagi.

Without Pat and his famous training philosophy...Wax on....Wax off...Our Mr. Miyagi, would have never been created. But trust me...we would have found something else to call him.

RIP Mr. Miyagi

Products. When you ATV ride, you can't do without them. From Saddle bags to water proof riding boots, they are not only essential, but they cost a lot of money. I've bought and tossed so many items, it would make your wallet spin. So I decided to do something about it. I've added a Product Review page to kick the tires and let you know the various products that I've used.

The first product the I reviewed, was the Collett Radio system after failing miserably and spending hundreds on other systems. The next product up, is Jet Boil. A new product for cooking that designed for backpacking. But anyone who's every loaded up an ATV for a camping trip, knows that our space is just as valuable as any backpacker.

I hope to bring many products to your attention that I have found to work. I know there are many many products out there that work quite nicely. But there are tons that don't. Hopefully, we can steer you clear of those.

Moon rise over Courtright Lake Dam. After returning from the Dusy-Ershim ride, we caught a rare near full moon rise over the canyon past the dam.

A full review of the ride, along with photos will be coming shortly.

I've redone the Trails Page. Check it out the new Rubicon Page. The other pages will follow shortly. Included along with Magellan 3D Topo map shots, I've also included satellite photos from Google Earth. Below is a sample shot over Rubicon Springs.

I've decided to actually review all the products that we use. So first up, is a review of the Collett Radio system. Look for more products reviewed, from ATV stuff to simply making camping easier.

Judas Priest is in town, so Jack, Steve and family are heading to Reno and the Bay Area to check out Scott pound on drums. Would ya take your break so we can go riding...WTF?

Also, Pro Armor has revamped their site...and low and behold ATV Obsession makes the front page. Check out my rock crawling video in the upper middle of the page! I have to thank Terry and Jack for both taking vids of the same spot.

You give a Honda guy a camera....show him a video of his floundering Honda on the trail....and WHAT DOES HE DO? He A) Makes his own Video....GUYS ON TRAIL PATROL. B) Goes out and buys a 2005 Polaris 800 EFI. Yes..."Honda" man...Dusty...made this video and bought a Polaris today...Congratulations...May the force be with you!

We're all going to the Rubicon this weekend, except Dusty and Terry. Hopefully Lizard and Bill make it.

Trail Patrol. Dusty and I did Trail Patrol this weekend on the Rubicon trail. It was VERY successful. We talked to 3 groups of people who had NO IDEA about the PETT System. We picked up over 50 crushed and mangled beer cans, jagermeister bottle, a white glove (no Michael Jackson sightings), a shoe and various papers, rubber pad, fuel filters, leaf spring and a partridge in a pear tree!

Many people were totally taken aback...we received many stares and stunned faces when we drove up. Quite funny. The more people doing Trail Patrol....the better. I never seen so many beers getting hid since High School prom. I have to say, the ATV's are EXTREMELY Effective in the role. It looks like a Patroling vehicle, instead of just another Jeep...they are easy to get on and off for picking up trash..and you have excellent vision to find the trash.

Ok...I'm officially....a PUTZ! I must be Jet lagging from Japan. For the first time in ATV Obsession history...we went on a ride...and I forgot my camera! Great ride up in Downieville...amazing views (that you'll never see), some killer snow drift traverses (that you'll never see), Scott doing doughnuts and not rolling Miren's quad (that you'll never see), stories about our trip...3 weeks ago(that you'll never hear) and a group shot powerfist of Ken, Steve(Eddie) and Scott.

I felt so bad for the ATV Obsession minions......that I did a new movie!

Presenting...Logan Duffy...from Arnold. CLICK HERE (or right click, save as)

How do you combine a Thrasher Handi-Cam shot, a Terry doesn't look back shot and a Snatch block shot all into ONE VIDEO?

Easy...Check out the NEW VIDEO from our ride on Monday outside of Nevada City in Deliverance Country.

I've been a busy little bee with the videos. Tired of huge files, I decided to take my raw AVI files and use a movie program to compact the files and do some stuff.

The muse was Cory at Pro Armor, who asked for a video clip of me (kenundersideup), but to shorten it down and make it smaller. Check out the result!

(right click Save as) Ken uses Pro Armor Gear

While I was at it...I reduced every video on the site and made them MUCH SMALLER. Not only did I make some smaller....but I took some editing liberties...
